Terms of use - free initial review

  • The purpose of our free initial review of your situation is to assess if we are able to assist you. If so we will tell you, and we will explain in general terms what would be involved and what our costs would be.
  • We do not offer free legal advice.
  • Our free initial review will be based on the information you provide in your Initial Contact Form, and any further information or documentation you provide to us at our request. We rely on you to provide us with accurate and complete information and documentation and will not check or verify its accuracy. You warrant that all information and documentation submitted by you for the purposes of your free initial review is complete and accurate in all respects.
  • We will only offer to advise you if we reasonably believe it would be appropriate for us to do so, and that we can do so cost-effectively.
  • If you go on to instruct us to advise you, we will send you a Client Care Letter and our Terms of Business confirming our arrangements, what work we will do for you, and what fees would be payable. To proceed with the matter, you would need to sign and return these to us. There is no obligation on you to do so, but we will not advise you unless you do.
  • To complete our free initial review of your situation, we may need to ask you for relevant background documentation. Please ensure you have the following documents to hand (as far as may be applicable to your situation) before you submit your Initial Contact Form:
    • Signed reservation agreement including details of extras, incentives etc;
    • Signed plot sale contract with developer, including conveyancing plan;
    • Executed (signed) transfer deed and transfer plan;
    • Full executed (signed) lease;
    • Warranty cover note;
    • Planning permission reference number for your plot/development;
    • Defects lists, surveying reports, NHBC Resolution Reports or similar, if any;
    • Signed settlement agreement(s), if any;
    • Copies of any settlement offers that have not been accepted;
    • Other relevant background documentation relating to the issue on which you want advice, if not already covered above.
  • If you are unable to send us relevant documents on request, we may not be able to complete your free initial review.
  • Please do not send us any documents unless we ask for them.
