Documents you will need

When you sign up, you will be asked to send us the following documents:

  • Signed/exchanged copy of your sale agreement with the developer (if not to hand, please ask your conveyancing solicitor for a copy).

  • New home warranty cover note and policy document.

  • Details of any claims you have made to date on your new home warranty.

  • A copy of any settlement offers or agreements made by you or the developer or the new home warranty provider in relation to construction defects or related issues.

  • Surveyors reports or other evidence of construction defects.

  • Snagging lists (please identify any unresolved issues).

  • Building Control Initial Notice and/or Final Certificate (if not to hand, please ask your conveyancing solicitor).

  • If NHBC Building Control signed your home off, their site inspection records (please contact NHBC directly to request these).

  • Receipts/invoices for money already spent on defects including professional fees fees, building work etc. (if not already reimbursed).

  • Illustrative photographs or videos of major or extensive visible defects or damage in your home.

  • Floor plans, technical drawings, approved planning documents, detailed written specifications etc.

  • Planning permission reference number for your development (ask your conveyancer if unsure.
